My plan for today included beginning a tree block to send to Australia and that entailed finding fabrics – my favorite part of quilting: mixing and matching fabrics with the end in mind.  I chose from my stash fabrics to make two blocks…and I cut the pieces for one. I looked up and realized the afternoon was rapidly disappearing, the temp had risen to 40° – we started out mid 20s – and I had time before sunset to go for a walk… So, out I went.

#walk 20in2020

On my walk today, I listened to this week’s Gretchen Rubin Happier podcast and

captured this lovely picture of the sky just before sunset. Arriving home, I planned to stitch and wound up ordering groceries from Whole Foods, instead. We have been talking about trying the service someday and today turned out to be it.

I’m probably half way through Fever and plan to go see Just Mercy next Wednesday with a friend. Joining Kat and friends for another Unraveled Wednesday.

Cheers~

  1. I love the colors in your tree block, and can even see them reflected in your photos. I’m looking forward to seeing your finished square!

  2. The greens are a breath of fresh air on this gray day. I am glad you were able to get out for a walk. Cold with a wintry mix today. I stayed in and tossed the stash of yarn. Oh my. Let’s just say I have so much lovely yarn.

  3. Well, I popped in her twenty minutes ago but by the time I’d followed all your interesting links … ! What a great photo – the winter sunlight makes elegant giants of us all :). Hoping you’ve making progress with your quilt squares, and I really like the green leafy pattern.

  4. Walk 20 in 20 is a very good thing! As are your colors for your quilt squares! The past few mornings have so bitterly cold, the warming afternoons have been such a welcome treat!

  5. I read “Just Mercy,” and listed it as a favorite (I think in 2018.) I’ve been told that seeing it is just as important as reading it, There are scenes in that book, I will never forget.

  6. Very pretty colors Honore! Looking forward to the finish. My, what a long shadow! I used to love shadows like that when I was a kid – made me feel SO tall!
