spring preview …

In just 10 days, the Spring Equinox officially arrives at 11.50 PM, ESDST. Today’s warm temps, sunshine and bright blue sky, were an invitation to journey out for a preview of delights to come. I accepted and out I went. I was not disappointed. Greeting me:

bright yellow daffodils
tulip tree buds about to blossom
and I’m not sure what this flower bush is…but it’s bright red flowers called out.

Hurry Spring! So looking forward to spending time with you!

  1. Wow; it sure looks like spring! We’re back to more seasonable temps by the end of the week, but I’ve also enjoyed today’s preview. It’s wonderful to open the windows and let the fresh air in!

  2. The photo I took of our daffodils this morning would make you laugh—about 1/4-1/2 inch peeking out! They’ll likely be covered in snow at least one more time before they bloom. I am. so. ready. for spring!

  3. Honore, looks like the last shrub is QUINCE. Im hoping the three I cut and root started are going to flourish soon.
Glad you got out. You must feel a bit better!! We had rain all day, but that’s ok. Its not snow!

  4. Glad to read that you are no longer confined to bed, and feeling well enough to be outside – such a tonic those colours and that blue sky must be. A real trio of mood-lifting photos (we have endless grey skies and rain here). Hoping your recovery continues on an upward trajectory, and that Spring arrives bang on cue for you.

  5. Such happy sights! We don’t have any flowers blooming yet — so far I’ve only seen snowdrops and a few crocus flowers — but I think we’ll be there soon!

  6. You are well ahead of my area in the coming of Spring. Our trees are getting buds, but nothing is actually flowering yet. I’m so ready!

  7. What a lovely preview of spring, Honoré! I’m so glad you were able to get out and enjoy the early blooms — and share them with us — because they’re still weeks away here. (And that last flowering bush is a quince.) XO
