friendstitchin’ / 8-22-21…

The highlight of the end of week #33, Sunday August 22, 2021: our second Friendstitch gathering since Covid-19 shut the country/world down in 2020. The food was delish: salad; breads; Sun Chips  (I cannot ever eat “just one” ); Prosecco and delicious cookies for dessert. The best part: leftovers to take home so we could savor the tastes as well as  the afternoon’s memories.  I think I was so busy stuffing my mouth that I plumb forgot to take one picture! Say what?!

We always have a lovely time; yesterday was no exception. Despite the fact that I didn’t take any photos, I did find a needlepoint project online that I ordered. There is a story that goes with it and as soon as the canvas and yarns arrive, I will share. In the meantime, the photo above is of last Friday’s sunset.

It’s hard to believe that in just nine days September  – my favorite month – will be here. Bring it on! Are you looking forward to Autumn/Fall?

Cheers~

  1. I am very much looking forward to fall. It’s my favorite season of all. I’m glad you had a nice time with friends. Maybe not taking a photo means you were having the best time.

  2. Yes – love the idea of September and hoping for cooler weather that will make for good stitching time. And I agree with Jane – no photos means you were having such a lovely time

  3. We missed seeing you on Zoom on Sunday but were happy to hear to that you were getting together with friends in person instead! And any time I’m having too much fun to take a photo, I know it was a success.

I am really looking forward to September, truly one of my favorite times of the year. I love when the mornings and evenings are a bit chilly (just enough for a light sweater) but it’s still warm and comfortable during the day.

  4. A resounding yes from me! Through much of summer’s heat and humidity, I tell myself that I just need to hold on until September. It’s still hot and humid here in MD, but I know that soon I will feel the first cool breezes of fall – my favorite season!

  5. That’s such a lovely photo … what a colourful end to what sounds like a very happy day :). oooh, a new needlework project? That sounds just the thing for the cooler autumn days.

  6. I definitely have mixed emotions about the oncomiing fall. With pre-vaccine precautions back in place here, I’m hoping for a very long, warm autumn so I can continue to see friends for meals outdoors. Since none of our grandchildren are old enough to be vaccinated, we’re back to the very cautious behavior of a year ago. So discouraging.

  8. How delightful to be gathering again with friends, for good food, fellowship, and crafting! I am wholeheartedly a fan of Fall, but am embracing this last bit of summer. Have decided not to wish away any of the time … but I do wish it would cool down a few degrees.

  9. How lovely you got to do some “friendstitching”!! I am really wishing for a bit less humidity… it is just oppressive! I am hoping that we have a nice warm fall though. A trip to MI to visit my unvaccinated grands and I am hoping we can spend lots of time outdoors.
