… Shortly after noon Saturday, about 12:30 pm, I looked out the window (over the kitchen sink) and gasped: I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a cloud such as this! T’was just incredible and made a wonderful backdrop for the crepe myrtle tree in a neighbor’s yard.

…Today we’ve not been gifted with such a lovely and different sky and it’s a tad bit (aka a whole lot) h-o-t! Fortunately there is a bit o’ a breeze that helps a lot. I’m in a lazy + organizing (sort of) mood:

busy one hour sorting papers;

jotting down ideas;

making this week’s daily to do lists;

vacillating between doing a little or nuttin’ much at all;

taking a few moments to chat with my niece about her plans for her last two years of undergraduate school.

It’s nearly 5 PM; guess it’s time to move on and continue with this day’s agenda; soon it’ll be dinnertime. Where does the time go?

Until we meet again, have a good week …

Cheers~

~Pink is the color of Spring ~

It has been cloudy today; yesterday was all rain … but the nice thing about Spring is the budding and blossoming of flowers and trees. Always a welcomed sight and a boost to one’s morale, especially on a rainy day.

My week began with a fairly empty calendar – no medical appointments for us. Wonderful. And because Monday was sunny, warm, I took my car for a much needed interior cleaning and exterior wash. An item that had been on my “let’s do this” list far too long! I’d forgotten that a car wash was just about 4 blocks away; that was a nice perk.

I finished Hamnet Tuesday evening. Such a wonderful book. I continue to think about it; it has been a long time since I read any or about Shakespeare. I have a huge tome of his works so I think I’ll revisit Hamlet.

I’m on the threshold of starting the Confetti Quilt; the background fabric arrived – I was a half yard shy; my mistake. Today, I ordered more. As Bonnie, I’ve an errant sock that put the brakes on my knitting so I’ve added it back to the stitching queue. One thing’s for sure, I won’t be running out of stitching projects any time soon.

And – drum roll please: A shout out to my grand niece Dolly! Sunday she celebrated her 35th birthday! I can’t begin to wrap my head around that! Seems that just yesterday she was a little baby. Now she’s the mom of two boys, ages 3.5 and soon to be 7 in June.

spring preview …

In just 10 days, the Spring Equinox officially arrives at 11.50 PM, ESDST. Today’s warm temps, sunshine and bright blue sky, were an invitation to journey out for a preview of delights to come. I accepted and out I went. I was not disappointed. Greeting me:

bright yellow daffodils
tulip tree buds about to blossom
and I’m not sure what this flower bush is…but it’s bright red flowers called out.

Hurry Spring! So looking forward to spending time with you!

yesterday, our bi-monthly Recent Reads gathering; the time seemed to come by sooner than (I’d )expected. Friend Margaret, hostess, served a delicious meal of both books and food, introducing us to Will Schwalbe – be sure to watch the video on the page. Friend Doris read The Winter Soldier – it sounds intriguing. I’ve not read any fiction so far this year so I think I’ll add it to my TBR list… My whole reason for initiating Recent Reads was to help jumpstart me to resume reading the occasional fiction title.  So far this year, I think I’m batting zero …

home, the bright blue sky and warm-enough temps beckoned me for a quick walk to/through the park. I was delighted to see the pink blossoms on the trees against the bright blue sky!

we watched our local PBS station’s fund drive last night~ featuring Norman’s favorite male crooner: Nat King Cole. Norman knows the lyrics to all Nat’s songs. As he – Nat, that is –  sang, I knit more rows on the log cabin blanket… a forever project  tho’ one that helps me sharpen basic knitting techniques and also, develop the habit of knitting/stitching while watching TV…Gretchen Rubin’s new book Outer Order, Inner Calm indeed did arrive…and I dipped a bit into it. It’ll be a quick read…and good!

today, for sure has been unraveled…starting with bright sunshine and a warm temperature of 29° F + wind, making it feel like a a warm/cold 18° F…just the invitation one – ahem, I – needed to stay in jammies & robe – making it a  s-l-o-w morning, er day… Lots of time spent researching, aka down a few YouTube holes. Pizza and champagne for our late  lunch …mainly because N was hungry and I have a 7:30 pm concert. Laundry done! Still have month’s expenses to tally…

Joining Kat and friends for today’s Unraveled Wednesday.

Cheers~
