(sunrise ~ 6:36 am)
Today, Morning Solitude and Quiet Time, extended beyond noon. T’wasn’t in the plan but it just felt like the right thing to do on this last Tuesday of February. I was busy reading, thinking and plotting – focused on my 2018 word: habit … and also becoming acquainted with the latest iOS for my Apple iPhone and iPad. I am not one to rush to install those upgrades…I usually wait til the kinks are worked out. I took several selfies and looking at them using the “LIVE” feature had me howling. Kinda creepy…but fun! That, however, wasn’t contributing to my focus for the day: zeroing in on [those] daily activities that translate into healthy habits that are good for me and help me fulfill creative urges and experiments.
Not that I’ve not known this for probably all my adult, at least, life: habits are hard to make and break! Be that as it may, I shall press on… and one day, someday, I’ll have succeeded in accomplishing my quest. Watch this space. Are you working on making or breaking a habit?

The story behind the kimono: shortly before Christmas, my friend Diane sent me a text inviting me to look at the above kimono on HSN…she thought I’d like it, especially since it came in my favorite color…and she’d bought one for herself – in red (her fave color, I do believe). I thought, why not and told her to go ahead and order. They came; we both liked and decided to wear to quilt meeting today…
I thought is was fun that Mother Nature also decided to display reds and yellows for today’s sunrise…t’was very dramatic and a delight to watch. Tomorrow, Tuesday 8 January, the temperature’s set to rise to 60 degrees…and come Wednesday, drop precipitously, rain and perhaps even snow by week’s end. Guess that’s January.

Either way, I like them both. Do you have a favorite? Have a great weekend.
The day started bright, with the promise of sunshine all day… well, that was short lived. Sunrise, at 7:03 am and the morning high, 41° F was as good as it was going to get. Within an hour, clouds had moved in and winds picked up – making it feel like 32°.
This afternoon, I took a shorter and brisker walk than planned ’cause it’s downright windy and cold —brrr. Even though the Winter Solstice is just 24 days away, I’m really not ready for winter. You?
After my very abbreviated and brisk walk, I was so thankful to step inside our warm house. So very thankful.
